1.  What is the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship Program?

  Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship Program is a 2 year program for managerial professionals to execute projects in government domain and gain experience to advance as managers of excellence.

A total of 42 fellows are to be selected in year 2017.

  2 Fellows to assist Office of the Honorable Chief Minister

  1 Fellow to assist Office of the Chief Secretary

  12 Fellows to assist State Level Department HODs

  27 Fellows to assist District Collectors

2.  Do I need to be a certain age to qualify?

  All applicants who are not more than 35 years of age (as of 31st March, 2017) are eligible to apply. There is no minimum age barrier.

3.  Is there any age relaxation?

  The eligibility criteria published on www.cmggfcg.in is mandatory requirement for this program.

4.  Why 60 % criteria?

  The eligibility criteria published on www.cmggfcg.in is set after a lot of deliberation and is a mandatory criteria.

5.  I am a student currently. Can I apply?

  As per our eligibility criteria, you must have completed your undergraduate degree and have five year of full- time work experience OR have a postgraduate degree or diploma in any discipline and have three year of full- time work experience.

6.  Is Nationality of a candidate constraint to apply as a fellow?

  A candidate must be a citizen of India.

7.  There is no time to adjust our notice period?

  Decision regarding joining date will be taken by the selection committee at the time of the PI.

8.  I am in central government employee so can this appointment be treated as a deputation?

  Thank you for your interest in the CMGGF Programme. With permission from your concerned department you can apply for the Fellowship. However the Fellowships is a different employment engagament hence will not be treated as a deputation or study leave.

9.  I am a public health professional but interested to work in development sector, will it be feasible for district fellows to work on multiple schemes

  Preference will be given to use your sectoral experience. However if fitment allows then you may be absorbed in other sectors or at district headquarters.

10.  Many private companies have a notice period of 3 months. Would like to know if that should be okay or will it be a problem?

  Decision regarding joining date will be taken by the Interview Committee. However a notice period of 3 months will definitely be an issue.

11.  What opportunities will I get after completion of this fellowship? Will I get placed somewhere through your office?

  This is a two year contractual fellowship program. This office will not place you after completion of the fellowship. However, after completion of this fellowship one can get lot of opportunities opened in public policy sectors and in concultancy services. Reputes Management Schools in India and abroad give high preference to candidates with experience in public policy.

12.  What will be the working hours and leave policy ? Are we going to have frequent travel within city or state?

  The travel requiremnts would be based on the demands of the work schedule of the Fellows. We do not expect too much of travel. You will get about 18 CLs apart from state holidays.

13.  I have applied for this program to work in education sector. What the case studies will be based on? Will it be generalized or specific based on applied sector?

  Case study will be of two kinds. One specific to domain selected by the candidate and one general such that a candidate can be placed in programs where no specific domain is required. However, ICT and Project Management are highly desirable skills.

14.  I want to promote advanced software startups similar to Bangalore. Do you have any plans in that direction

  CHiPS definitely has such a vision and a special section delaing with startups. This program does not directly link with that entity. However suggestions / ideas can be incubated if they are found promising.

15.  Will we get the topic for essay writing prior to teh examination?

  The essay will not be descriptive, so you will get the topic during the exam itself.
